Why does Composite Stain?
When composite resin is set in place by the UV light, the components that make composite become linked together via small agents. The surface then requires adequate polishing to avoid create a very smooth less permeable
A microscopic view on the surface of composite shows that the strands that come together can leave small areas of space where stains can sit and penetrate the composite structure to cause discolouration.
High polishing of the composite removes these surface impurities and creates a more impermeable layer of composite against staining.
